PayPal, Shopping Bag, and Internet Payments
Effective 7 november, 2011, BPS will no longer be able to receive payments from PayPal. For this reason we are entering an agreement with Sampath Bank, Sri Lanka, to handle credit card payments via their secure Internet Payment Gateway (IPG). In the future we may install other internet payment options. We are considering AlertPay, 2CheckOut, Moneybookers, and others. But for the immediate future we intend to use the Sampath Bank IPG.
New Hosting Server
Concurrent with the change to the new IPG, we will be transferring the BPS site to a new Linux-based hosting server. When this occurs, the site may be offline for as much as eight hours. Usually, however, such a changeover takes only two to four hours. Please be patient; we will be back online as soon as we can.
Typ0graphical Errors, Bad Links, etc.
As with any large site web project, this project is bound to introduce errors onto the web site. We ask both for your patience and for your help. Please use our CONTACT US page notify us of any problems you may encounter.
Browsing the bookshop
Our on-line bookshop has changed drastically. The bookshop may now be browsed using our bookshop search page, which features selections for category, publisher, publication type, and allows you to sort the result. Moreover, you can search for author or title, keyword, or by the catalog number.
Menus
The left-side navigation menus have been streamlined and show only the items that apply to the current page. When Bookshop has been selected, for example, the menu expands to show the selections that apply to the bookshop. The following items bring up newly-created pages:
- Browse bookshop: search for publications
- New From BPS: books published by BPS within the past year
- New from other: books from other publishers, received at BPS within the past year
- Coming soon: books on order or soon to be received from the printer
